The absolute of rose is prepared from the concrete by refluxing with absolute alcohol for few hours followed by filtration to separate waxes. The solvent traces are then removed by vacuum distillation, leaving behind highly fragrant absolute. Chemically Rose absolute contains phenyl ethyl alcohol, geraniol, citronellol, nerol & farnesol. USES: The extracted absolute adds lasting tonalities and increase fixation of odors. A mixture of distilled oil and extracted absolute combine the advantages of two products. Absolute used in handkerchief perfumes & in cosmetics where solubility play no role.
